Ingredients:
2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup powdered sugar
2-3 tablespoons milk
Sprinkles for decorations
Instructions:
1) Preheat the oven to 350 F (177 C ) . Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
2) In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
3) In a mixing bowl, either a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment or a handheld mixer, beat butter and granulated sugar together at medium speed until smooth and creamy. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed. Next, beat the eggs one at a time and mix the vanilla and almond extracts until combined.
4) Slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and beat on low speed until combined.
5) Roll the dough(teaspoon-size) into small balls and place them on the baking sheets. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or your hand.
6) Bake cookies for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
7) While the cookies are cooling, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth and thick. Add the milk a little at a time.
8) Once the cookies are completely cool, drizzle the glaze over the top and sprinkle with colorful sprinkles. Allow the glaze to set before storing or serving.
Yields: 24 cookies
